ALEC Engineering and Contracting Launches’ Mustaqbal’ Training Program to Empower Emirati Graduates in the Construction Sector
Dubai, UAE – ALEC Engineering and Contracting, a leading UAE construction firm, has launched ‘Mustaqbal’, an in-house training program designed to cultivate a new generation of Emirati talent equipped with the technical and leadership skills necessary for construction and real estate.
‘Mustaqbal’, which translates to ‘Future’ in Arabic, aims to increase the presence of Emiratis in these vital industries while promoting inclusivity and opportunity for young UAE Nationals. The program’s inaugural cohort comprises 15 participants, with a significant majority female, reflecting ALEC’s commitment to gender diversity and empowerment.
Gavin Stone, Group Director of People and Culture at ALEC, stated, “Our initiatives are focused on attracting top talent, enhancing their skills, and deploying highly skilled professionals on the mega projects we undertake. ‘Mustaqbal’ is a testament to our dedication to nurturing local talent and contributing to the UAE’s economic growth.”
The year-long program will develop essential skills such as accountability, time management, and communication, which are considered fundamental for professionals at all career stages. Additionally, participants will gain hands-on experience and technical knowledge through exposure to real-world scenarios at ALEC construction sites.

Upon completion, each participant will be assigned to one of the R&D projects overseen by ALEC’s Innovation Division, further solidifying their role in shaping the future of the construction industry in the UAE.
