Crown Prince of Dubai Inspects Progress of Al Khawaneej 2 Housing Project
Dubai, United Arab Emirates—In a significant development aimed at enhancing the living standards of UAE citizens, His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, Chairman of The Executive Council of Dubai, and Chairman of the Higher Committee for Development and Citizens Affairs, has conducted a detailed review of the ongoing housing project in Al Khawaneej 2.
During his visit, His Highness reiterated the Dubai leadership’s commitment to ensuring the familial stability of its citizens by providing high-quality living conditions. “The well-being, comfort, and happiness of Emirati families are at the forefront of our priorities,” said His Highness Sheikh Hamdan. He underscored the personal supervision by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, over the citizens’ housing programme, aiming to build distinctive residential communities.
The Al Khawaneej 2 project, characterised by its expansive green spaces and pedestrian-friendly infrastructure, promises a sustainable and enriching community environment. The development, designed with aesthetic entrances, shaded walkways, and ample public facilities, aims to foster a vibrant community spirit.
Upon arrival, His Highness was welcomed by Mattar Al Tayer, Commissioner General for Infrastructure, Urban Planning and Well-Being Pillar, and Omar Bu Shehab, CEO of the Mohammed Bin Rashid Housing Establishment, who provided insights into the project’s progress, which is currently at 47% completion and is slated for completion by December of this year.
The housing project will feature 1,050 residential units, including single villas, duplex villas, and townhouse villas, along with a host of communal facilities to promote a healthy and active lifestyle among residents.
Citizens’ Well-Being at the Heart of Development Efforts
Omar Bu Shehab expressed, “The Al Khawaneej 2 project embodies our leadership’s vision of developing comprehensive residential environments that cater to all the needs of our citizens, ensuring their comfort and safety.” The initiative is a testament to the ongoing efforts by the Mohammed Bin Rashid Housing Establishment to meet the evolving housing needs of UAE citizens through high-standard urban planning.
Ongoing and Future Housing Projects
The establishment is actively working on delivering five critical housing projects by 2025, aiming to benefit over 2,200 Emirati families. These projects, including the ones in Hatta, Al Aweer, Wadi Al Amardi, and Oud Al Muteena, are part of a broader strategy to ensure sustainable land use and enhance living conditions in alignment with the Dubai 2040 Urban Master Plan.

In related news, the successful completion of the Al Warqa 4 Housing Development Project last year added 136 residential villas to Dubai’s housing landscape. Each villa is designed to offer a harmonious balance between indoor and outdoor living, catering to the unique preferences of Emirati families.
