One Za’abeel Twin Towers in Dubai Achieves Guinness World Record for ‘The Link’
Dubai, UAE – The iconic One Za’abeel twin-tower complex has officially secured its place in the Guinness World Records with its extraordinary architectural feature, ‘The Link’.
Located near the Dubai World Trade Center roundabout, the super-luxury One Za’abeel has been recognized as the ‘longest cantilevered building’ in the world for its remarkable ‘The Link’ concourse. This achievement was formally recognized on March 1st, solidifying One Za’abeel’s position as the latest addition to Dubai’s record-breaking skyline.
Developed by the Investment Corporation of Dubai, ‘The Link’ spans an impressive 230 meters long, slicing through the One Za’abeel skyscrapers 100 meters above the ground. Its record-breaking cantilever extends an astonishing 67.277 meters beyond the development’s main tower. Notably, the construction of ‘The Link’ was completed in two phases over 16 days, seamlessly integrating with the live traffic below without disrupting the four lanes.
The first phase of ‘The Link’ lift was a significant feat in the region, involving the lifting and installing of a steel structure weighing over 8,500 tonnes over 12 days, using more than 110 special jacks and heavy-duty strand jacks. The second phase witnessed the lifting of the 900-plus ton cantilevered structure into place over four days.
