Sobha Group Announces Establishment of a New £123 Million Furniture Manufacturing Facility in Dubai Industrial City

The state-of-the-art factory aims to bolster the local manufacturing sector and reinforce Dubai’s leading global manufacturing hub position.

Sobha Group, a renowned real estate and manufacturing conglomerate, has unveiled its latest venture – a new furniture manufacturing facility within Dubai Industrial City (DIC), with an investment of Dh450 million (£123 million). This strategic move marks the establishment of the Group’s second furniture factory, further expanding its regional manufacturing capabilities.

Spanning an impressive 84,000 square metre plot with a built-up area of 50,000 sqm, the facility is poised to manufacture an extensive range of products. These include luxury and high-quality sofas, seats, armchairs, chairs, beds, specialised seating for cars and aeroplanes, and both assembled and flat-pack cabinets. The factory is designed to cater to both the local market and international export customers, reinforcing Dubai’s reputation as a key player in global trade and manufacturing.

Sobha Group’s latest venture is aligned with the ‘Make it In the Emirates’ initiative, aiming to significantly contribute to and strengthen the local industrial sector. The factory at Dubai Industrial City represents a milestone in Sobha Group’s ongoing commitment to innovation, quality, and luxury in furniture manufacturing, setting new benchmarks for the industry.

PNC Menon, founder and chairman of Sobha Group, expressed his pride in the project’s potential to enhance Dubai and the UAE’s manufacturing landscape. “Sobha Furniture at Dubai Industrial City will contribute to Dubai’s and the UAE’s manufacturing landscape in the coming years, and we are proud to expand Sobha Group’s legacy of adding value to change lives for the better,” Menon stated.

Carlo Magistretti, CEO of Sobha Furniture, highlighted the company’s aspirations to meet and exceed global standards in luxury furniture manufacturing. “This significant investment underscores our commitment to innovation, quality, and contributing to the growth of the local economy,” Magistretti remarked.

Located within Dubai Industrial City, the new facility will foster synergies with Sobha Furniture’s existing operations in KEZAD, Abu Dhabi, enabling greater efficiency and innovation.
